1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using NihaoNext (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and purchasers of digital products through NihaoNext.

2. Using the site

NihaoNext provides Mandarin Chinese learning content, tools, and resources for personal, non-commercial educational use. You may use the free content, dictionary, flashcards, quizzes, and other tools for your own learning. You may not scrape, copy, redistribute, or republish content from NihaoNext without written permission.

You agree not to use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with any other party's use of the Site. This includes attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its systems, or its databases.

3. Accounts

Creating an account is optional and free. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the Site's tools, or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Digital products & courses ⭐

NihaoNext may offer paid digital products, including but not limited to: downloadable study guides, PDF vocabulary lists, audio files, and structured courses (collectively, "Digital Products"). Digital Products are sold and delivered via our third-party commerce partner.

Upon successful payment, you will receive access to download or stream the Digital Product. Digital Products are licensed for your personal use only. You may not share, resell, redistribute, or publicly post any Digital Product or its contents.

Access to Digital Products is generally provided immediately and does not expire, unless otherwise stated on the product page. We reserve the right to update, improve, or modify the content of a Digital Product after purchase — purchasers will retain access to updated versions where applicable.

5. Payment processing

All payments for Digital Products on NihaoNext are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing, applicable sales tax/VAT/GST collection and remittance, and acts as the seller of record for tax purposes.

NihaoNext does not store, process, or have access to your full payment card details. By making a purchase, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's own terms of service, available at lemonsqueezy.com/terms.

Prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout and may be subject to currency conversion fees charged by your bank or card provider.

6. Refund policy

Because Digital Products are delivered instantly and are accessible immediately upon purchase, refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If you experience a technical issue preventing access to a purchased product, or the product is materially different from its description, contact us within 14 days of purchase at contact@nihaonext.com and we will work with you to resolve it, including a full refund where appropriate.

Refunds, when approved, are processed through Lemon Squeezy back to your original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear depending on your bank.

7. Intellectual property

All content on NihaoNext — including text, lessons, graphics, the NihaoNext name and logo, dictionary data compilation, course materials, and software — is the property of NihaoNext or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without express written permission.

Chinese characters, pinyin romanisation, and general linguistic facts presented on the Site are not subject to copyright, but our specific compilations, explanations, exercises, and course structures are.

8. Disclaimer

NihaoNext provides educational content "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we strive for accuracy in all language content, we do not guarantee that the Site is error-free, complete, or that any particular learning outcome (such as passing an HSK exam) will be achieved through use of the Site.

Speech synthesis pronunciation is provided via your browser's built-in text-to-speech and may not perfectly represent native pronunciation in all cases.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NihaoNext and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or any Digital Product, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or exam outcomes.

Our total liability for any claim arising from a Digital Product purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for that product.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
